Does the bold headline alerts you the fact that you can get a blog for free? free blogs hosting is everywhere online and thanks to them, we can now do more things on the Internet easily. with a blog, you can host your photos, write your diary, throw out your random rants, write your travel journal, and share among your friends. sounds great? so let’s get our guide started here!

<!--

What is a blog?

A blog is actually more like a simplified version of website. Think about a “normal website” where there are homepage (the first page of a site) and the other subpages connected together with links (known as hyperlink). These pages serve information or certain web applications such as mail storage, online shopping, sending emails, perform data searching and so on.

Taking Yahoo! as example, when you go to http://www.yahoo.com/, you are at the homepage.

When you navigate around Yahoo!, say that you get into the Yahoo! Entertainment news via a link from Yahoo! homepage, you’ll get into a subpage, that looks somethings like this:

Entertainment pages in Yahoo! for example, are the pages that serve information. A giant website like Yahoo! can do a lot more than that in their website ofcourse. For instant, you can get email services on their website, instant Messenger downloads, as well as Yahoo! music

Now if we look at a blog, it is a simpler version of website. generally speaking, blogs dont offer as much features as a website normally does. what a blog normally has is a mainpage of recent content entries, along with subpages that meant for past entries archive.

Well, in most cases, i guess we can say that a blog has a main page and nothing else. On the main page, there is a set of entries. Each entry is a little text blurb that may contain embedded links out to other sites, news stories, etc. When the author adds a new entry, it goes at the top, pushing all the older entries down. This blog also has a right sidebar that contains additional permanent links to other sites and stories. The author might update the sidebar weekly or monthly.

An example of blog

What can a blog be?

As i mentioned earlier, a blog can be a personal diary, a daily pulpit, acollaborative space, a political soapbox, a breaking-news outlet, or even just a collection of links. its a place to have your own private creations and it  is whatever you want it to be.

Hosting your free blog

Currently there are lots of places offer free blogging software and free blog hosting. These offers are widely opened to the public and to register one, all you need is a unique user name (create one!) and a valid email address (get one free!).

Perhaps the best part of blogging is that the blogging software had made blog publishing work as easy as ABC. with a very user-friendly GUI, you can manage your blog styles (with built in blog template), links, blog posting, comment editing with minimal or no any web programming knowledge is needed. With blog nowadays, teachers can share their experience in scholl online, carpenter can share out his work on the Internet, and photographer often host their photo shotings online – all because of blogging is easy, and its free of charge.

If you are looking for a free blogging platform, here are some places where you can host your free blogs:

http://www.blogger.com/

http://www.wordpress.com/

http://www.blog.com/

http://www.blogeasy.com/

http://www.hi5.com/

http://www.friendster.com/

http://www.xanga.com/

The procedeurs of setting up your blog at these platform are pretty similar, we will take blogger as our example here and here are the step-to-step instructions of…

Setting up your free blog at blogger.com

1. Go to http://www.blogger.com/, notice the arrow icon that states ‘Create your blog now’? click on it to get started.

In case you wish to have your own domain, you will need to register it and host it on a server. try Godaddy for domain registration and for hosting, i would suggest bluehost. there are a lot more good hosting services available…i recommend bluehost is just because it works fine with me and i like their customer supports a lot.
